I had a right laugh on the R6 at SBOTY last month. Even though the rear shock (which looks disappointingly cheap given the rest of the bike) overheated within three laps in the Portuguese heat and thus proceeded to be bouncy- castle city, it was still brilliant fun. Okay, it makes a little less power and torque than before but, pfft, whatever, it’s still a brand new Supersport bike. Okay, okay, not entirely brand new, but brand new enough and Yamaha have done a cracking job. It may feel like a two-stroke – nothing, nothing, nothing, check time, nothing – ka’pow! But that doesn’t bother me too much because the handling is unbelievably good, and it looks superb. Great little thing! BJ’s Verdict 9/10
