BENELLI TORNADO

At a time when inline fours were all increasing in capacity from 750cc to 1000cc, Benelli bucked this trend and launched an 898cc triple. To be fair to Benelli, when they started developing the triple its capacity would have allowed it to match the 750cc inline fours, they just took too long to bring it to market and the world had changed. Still achingly beautiful to this day, the Tre sounds stunning with a race can fitted and can be made to handle wonderfully.

WATCH OUT FOR:

Early Tres had a mass of faults, the more major of which were corrected by importer MotoGB, so ensure the bike has been done by calling them with a frame number. Dashes leak, so watch for misting, the airbox drips water onto the middle cylinder, rusting the coil, battery cables aren’t man enough etc. etc….
