RST PRO SERIES RACE BOOT

-

TESTED BY: Bruce MILES: 4,000+ TIME: 1 year PRICE: £159.99 WEB: www.rst-moto.com There’s more to a bike boot than protection; fit, feel and function are also pretty damn important qualities. And let’s not forget about good looks, while we’re at it. Luckily for me I found the above in abundance with RST’s Pro Series Race boot, becoming a firm favourite from the get go of our relationship. I’ve given these boots some serious stick over the time I’ve had them, both on road and track, in snow, sun and showers; they’ve never let me down. They fit a treat and the best thing about them is the great level of feel you get from the sole and toe area; the latter meaning gear changes aren’t compromised by vagueness. They’re not cumbersome either, and they don’t require a diploma to fit them – just a wee bit of man-power to operate the side-fitted zipper, that’s doubly secured via a Velcro flap at the top. They’re just good, solid boots, offering high levels of durability and impressive levels of protection. I’ve crashed in these and have no hang-ups to report. Like the RST suit I was wearing at the time, they came away from the melee perfectly usable, just like me. Because I’ve used these boots excessively on track the sole has taken a bit of a kicking, and there is a bit of a depression to note, but my socks aren’t getting wet just yet. The only other wear is to the changeable toe sliders, which for obvious reasons is no problem whatsoever. There are much costlier and fancier options on the market, but if you’re looking for value for money and credible performance then I’d highly recommend these.
