Yes I know, I've been threatening to get the Kawasaki on the dyno for what seems like a long old while now, but this month might've been the best to date as I've had some bigger fish to fry. Remember that annoying noise I mentioned that just wouldn't bugger off? Well finally, it's gone!

But what was it, you say? Well basically, when either revving the tits off the 400 or braking hard it sounded like the horn was coming in; which as you can imagine, is really bloody annoying, especially if you're on track or you've forgotten to stick ear plugs in. n This meant before I focused on making the 400 faster I had to get it working properly, and this meant a trip back to Kawasaki UK for the Ninja. Now, they haven't actually heard of this problem throughout the dealer network at all in Blighty so far, but after scanning some forums I found there were a few other people in Europe who've had the same problem, and Kawasaki found a few in Germany as well… which was bloody handy as it meant it wasn't just me going mad!

So for most of this month the Ninja has been getting some much needed love with Team Green, and while it was at Kawasaki they treated it to a whole new horn assembly – they seemed to think it was just the rubber mounting on the horn that's causing a slight niggle under stress, but it's no drama to replace the little unit and make sure it's all ship shape – and it's only gone and bloody worked. Now the only annoying noises are coming from me singing in my helmet!

Unfortunately, this does mean that I haven't been riding the little Kwak as much as I'd like this month, but luckily for me I did manage to nab a Z650 from Kawasaki to plaster some miles on while the Ninja was getting some love. It's basically the little middleweight naked in the Z range, and having been on the launch a few years back I secretly fell a little bit in love with the titchy twin. So no, it hasn't been a bad month as blasting around on one was an absolute pleasure. I almost forgot I had a Ninja at all…

But the holidays are over, and now it's here, I'm glad to have the 400 back. It's running faultlessly, and now I can bust some big mileage in and get some proper work done over the next month. Now the real next stop is get it on the Dyno, get the fuelling module on and dial in the fuelling perfectly. One step at a time…
