Ana Carrasco became the first ever Female FIM Solo World Champion, beating the rest of the 40 strong field to the title in the Supersport 300 class, and it was an emotional time for all in the pitlane. The #pinkwarrior made tough work for herself by qualifying 25th on the grid, but her closest challenger, Scott Deroue, sadly had to retire after his gear lever decided to remove itself from his Kawasaki. In what was arguably the best Supersport 300 race of the season, the next closest title challenger, Mika Perez, rode out of his skin to be second, but Carrasco’s 13th place finish was enough to secure the championship by one point over Perez.
