WARNING LIGHTS

Fast Bikes - - USED BIKE GUIDE -

Always be very wary of an ‘Fi’ warning light on the GSX- R’s dash as the stepper motor (STVA) on the secondary throttles can fail, causing the warning light to illuminate and a C28 fault code. It is a sealed unit and can’t be easily rebuilt, so it leads to a bill of around £800 for a new one or taking a chance on a used unit for close to £300. If it’s not the stepper motor causing the warning light, then the Throttle Position Sensor ( TPS) is broken, is about £150 for the unit (cheaper pattern parts are available) and then it needs to be fitted and set-up.
