I really liked the ZX-7R. I must admit when I first sat on it, it seemed way too soft and a little bit cramped, but out on the road I had a right laugh razzing it around. The low seat meant getting your knee down was a piece of cake and the soft set-up gave it a really plush feel – okay it was maybe a little too soft, and when we upped the ante and started pushing on a bit on some of the faster roads it did tend to make a few shapes. But even then it wasn’t skittish and frightening, and it all added to the fun if you ask me. Low down fuelling, on this particular bike, had room for improvement, but once the engine was singing everything did exactly as it was supposed to do. It sounded great, went well and filled me full of confidence almost all of the time. It’s a yes from me.
