Fast Bikes - - FEATURE -

The 749 is a bike that still tends to stick in dealers’ showrooms as while the 999 is hot property, buyers don’t seem to warm to the smaller capacity Dukes as much. You can snap up an updated 2004 749 S with its more powerful motor and uprated Showa suspension for in the region of £5,000, which is fairly tempting as it is noticeably better than the stock 749. On a smooth road or track the 749 S’s handling is sublime while its V-twin thumps out lots of lazy torque and sounds tremendous. However in town it’s a bloody nightmare – but what else did you expect?
