When Yamaha say the MT has a shed load of torque, they really aren’t buggering about. As soon as I touched the throttle the MT would just unleash itself, and although it wants to wheelie the riding position really allowed me to get over the front end and use the rear brake easily. The fact that the thing is an absolute animal meant it lost a bit of time over the European nakeds, but it was still bloody fast… especially on the speed run where it made 159mph feel like nothing!
