TAKE IN THE TT

-

This one never gets boring, trust us. There’s something special about watching 200bhp+ superbikes powering flat-out through towns and villages, leaping through the air and generally defying the rules of physics at every given chance. Too many things are hyped up beyond their calling, but the TT’s not one of them. It takes place over two weeks, so there’s loads of time to get a ferry or flight to the Isle of Man to watch a race or practice session, which are equally as mesmerising and allow you to get within touching distance as the riders breach speeds of 200mph.

As you’d expect from a gig that draws tens of thousands of fans from every corner of the world, there’s never a dull moment, with loads of put-on entertainment for the visitors, and no shortage of beer tents. The action’s as up close and personal as it gets, along with the racers who actively spring up in pubs and clubs throughout the race fortnight. If you’re late to the party you might find accommodation is a bit of a struggle, so it might be wise to check with the Metzeler Village, who transform the Douglas National Sports Arena into a top quality camp site, to see if they’ve got any room at the inn – http://roadracing.metzeler.com/ village/
