After all these years of riding, being silly, and landing on my head the amount that I have, the fact that I’m still as good as normal really is a testament to some of the kit I’ve trashed throughout the years, with the very latest being the Supertech

M10 helmet from Alpinestars.

With my long termer being not just an enduro/mx bike but also a road legal weapon,

I really wanted something that offered the very best protection possible for my noggin while still looking trick and staying comfortable for those long days in the saddle.

That’s exactly where the new Supertech lid came in. Although it’s on the higher end of the price scale where off-road lids are concerned, when it arrived I could see why. It oozes quality, from the carbon finish to the nice carry bag it comes in, and

from the very first time

I stuck it on, it instantly moulded to my head – although if you’re between sizes, I’d recommend going higher rather than lower. It has a shed load of vents in all the right places to keep things nice and cool, and best of all, it really does look fast, which is the most important thing when you lack those off-roading tekkers… although if you’re going between ‘lanes on the road, I’d highly recommend a set of earplugs. It’s not just about wearing it around the house though, as with a carbon shell and EPS liner, it’s kept me safe over the past six months or so, even though I have hit it a fair few times. The peak even took a big old knock and didn’t snap or budge which was impressive, although if you run into any issues it comes with a spare included.

The insides are incredibly easy to wash and replace, and with a little bit of cleaning it still looks as good as new, and has held itself together beautifully. Top marks, Alpinestars.
