Top tales from our TT star

Bonjour, comrades. As we finished off last month we were going to Croft for the next stop-off of the No Limits endurance championship, and it was a really good round for us all. When I got there, Dave Carnell from BMW had a quick look over my BM and made some adjustments. I’d also put on a new set of yokes I bought from proMac and had a play with the offset. All I can say is a massive thank-you to Dave, as the bike felt really good and was so easy to ride electronically, because I had struggled a little after the ecu updates I did over the winter. We went out in qualifying and I pushed out first and put us temporally quickest, only to be pipped by 100th by the Lodge brothers. It’s good seeing younger brother James back on a bike, the long streak of piss. We went to SA with him in 2012 and had a right laugh!

However, the race was a little bit of a war of attrition for James Edward, but after his strong first session he handed over to Liam, who quickly had an issue, forcing him to pull in early, making an additional stop. Dave Hall took over from Liam and put in some strong times until an unfortunate little slip meant he also had to come in to pass over to me. But me nor the team were quite ready, meaning we lost more time and dropped to seventh.

I put in some strong times (really like Croft) and the fastest lap in the endurance race, and found out afterwards that two-thirds of my stint was all in the 22s, in traffic – so I’m back liking the bike now, after me and her had our mini upset. The alterations I’ve made have made it a little hard to change direction on the fast stuff but we can sort that! James finished the last stint and pulled us up one more place into second on the podium. So that’s a third and a second now – hope we can carry this on! As a team we can’t wait for Anglesey!

Also at Croft, I got to do one session on the CFMOTO bike! The developments made are impressive and it is proper looking sweet also; Tony Hepworth at CP Race Paints has the new paint job sorted right out!

Joe Akroyd rode a stock motored bike but with a full spec chassis to four wins which was awesome, and Michael Bouvier Booth also got much faster throughout the weekend and got a second in the last race, along with Tommy Downs on the CFMoto mini twin also taking three wins. I’m really hoping to get a full run-out at Anglesey for a play but really want to race against them all on my RC Express bike at some point!

There’s all this stuff going on with me at the shop, and we took delivery of one of the big CForce 1000 side-byside buggies. I need to take one of these home… but maybe wouldnt be a good idea, tbh. During the weeks I was out at Oulton on the Fireblade shootout, with my dad on his Thuxton, and doing some promo work with Dan Linfoot, which you’ll hear about later.

‘Til next month, amigos! I’m off to learn Anglesey as I’ve never been there before, but I cannot wait (hope it’s dry, please god).
