Another month has flown past, and the Fiesta ST180 is proving to be a great car to modify. It’s not just us that think that either, as a good amount of ST owners have already started modifying their examples too, with most aiming for the 240bhp – 250bhp mark.

There is already a huge selection of bolt-on hardware upgrades, such as intercoolers, exhaust systems, and induction kits. Our demo ST has these hardware upgrades already fitted, and while they undoubtedly offer improvements straight away, the real benefits will be seen when the factory map settings are upgraded.

That’s why we have recently turned our attention to the software side of things and, in perfect timing, Auto Specialists has just become a dealer for the highly acclaimed Revo range of maps. Revo have been hard at work on the software for the 1.6-litre EcoBoost with both Stage 1 and Stage 2 options. A Focus Zetec S 1.6 EcoBoost was used to help develop the software on the Fiesta ST. The Focus was launched around six months earlier than the Fiesta and this gave them a head start on the software for the ST.

We had already been running another brand of software on our Fiesta and we thought that was pretty good, until the Revo stage 2 was installed. It’s very impressive and much better that what was fitted before! Another track session is already booked for testing, so next month we’ll be able to tell you what it’s like on track as well as giving it a thorough road test. Plus, we’ve just started work on a Stage 2 intercooler too…
