We head to the Bristol and Swindon RSOC’s always-awesome annual, RS Combe…
We’ve been attending RS Combe events for years, it’s one of our favourite shows of the year, and it never ceases to amaze us that this fantastic Ford day is organised solely by members from two small RS Groups. The teams from neighbouring Bristol RSOC and Swindon RSOC groups join forces to host one of the best shows on the calendar. This year was no different. In fact, with the gorgeous sunshine beating down all day, it was easily one of the best ever.
Alongside two mighty displays from the hosting clubs, RS Combe also attracts RS and non-RS groups from all over the country. The distance some of these guys travel is testament to how good the show really is.
As ever, the concours area was packed full of spotless and gleaming fast Fords of all ages – looking particularly beautiful in this year’s amazing weather – as well as plenty of fast and frantic track action throughout the day – including several cars offering passenger rides for charity, and the now-customary RS Combe parade laps for models celebrating anniversaries. This year was a busy one, with the Escort celebrating its 50th anniversary and the Sapphire Cosworth enjoying its 30th anniversary, among others.
And, of course, your favourite Ford tuning mag was there too. Yep, we had a little stand with a selection of cool past and future feature cars on show.
The atmosphere at RS Combe is always a chilled vibe, and with everyone soaking up the sunshine and drinking in the wealth of fantastic Fords on offer, it was a day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Keep an eye on the website for RS Combe 2019 dates to be announced and get it in your diary as soon as you can – you won’t be disappointed.
