What's new in the Ford world?

Phil Reeves recently made history at Ford Fest at the end of September. Fresh from winning the FWD UK drag series, he headed to Ford Fest with one goal – to prove that his crazy Fiesta is the fastest front-wheel drive Ford in all of Europe. The time to beat was 9.376, set by Kovacs Szabolcs in 2011.

With that target in his sights, Phil lined up on the drag strip to the almost perfect conditions; the air temperature was dropping nicely, but the setting sun still ensured the track temperature was nice and warm. After nailing the burnout, Phil edged into position on the start line. Yellow. Yellow… Green! The Fiesta made the perfect launch, and disappeared off into the horizon. The crowds waited with bated breath for the time to flash up on the gantry, and when it did they weren’t disappointed… 9.311 seconds! Fast enough to officially say that Phil has the fastest FWD Ford in Europe!
