It’s that time of the year again. The time when Stevie Hinks and co. set about emptying the showroom of Peoples Ford in Edinburgh of the current stock and fill it with the finest selection of old school RSs and fast Fords from the area. This year wasn’t just local though, there was a few special guests too – including the last ever RHD Sapphire Cosworth, an RS200 from Ford’s Heritage Centre, plus UK Chairman and Managing Director Ford Of Britain, Andy Barratt, popped up to sample a burger and meet the Blue Oval fans too.
This year’s meet was based around the 30th anniversary of the Sapphire Cosworth, and Michael Connolly managed to bring together at least a dozen of everyone’s favourite speedy taxis to fill the showroom.
As well as the Saphs, there were a wide variety of top notch Fords of all ages from proper classic fodder to the latest Focus RSs with mere delivery mileage. Also, live music, a DJ, prizes and plenty of food – with proceeds going to the ‘Charlie’s Journey’ charity – made it a quality evening out with top cars and good people. This is always one to make sure is in your diary!
