FIESTA ZETEC S MK5

The Mk5 Zetec S is a bit of a cult classic in Fiesta circles, but has always lived rather in the later Mk6 ST’s shadow. The Mk5 itself was essentially a 1999 facelift of the Mk4, taking the established platform and mixing in New Edge styling; as well as adding such options as leather seats and side airbags to the Fiesta platform, 2000 saw the arrival of the Zetec S. While its 1.6-litre 16v Sigma engine was available in other trim levels, the Zetec S variant produced 101bhp – the model also had improved and sportier suspension, thicker anti-roll bars and Puma brakes along with a distinctive bodykit. In Imperial Blue with multispoke wheels it had pukka hot hatch looks, and with oodles of tuneability it had the potential to match.
