ROBIN DOIG SAPPHIRE COSWORTH 2WD

-

The 2WD Sapphire Cosworth may have been seen as the runt of the Cosworth litter for years, with their 80s ambers being swapped for 90s clear and tinted lights, and in the worst- case scenario simply broken for parts due to their low cost. Gone are those days now, and the 2WD Saph has a strong following due to its relative rarity and drivetrain layout which gives maximum fun! With values up and people truly appreciating the original Sapphire Cosworth there’s no trying to make your Saph look like a fake 4x4 now. Ok, Robin may have a vented bonnet, but if you’ve ever owned a tuned YB you’ll know how hot they can get, so function is definitely the name of the game in this instance!

Since buying the Moonstone Saph last year, Robin has had the bodywork freshened up so it’s looking straight and stone- chip free now. Spec is the classic ‘Stage 3’ which is enough for now, but Robin is considering going fully old school, complete with a set of TSW Hockenheims!
