Fast Ford

Quick Q&A with Natalie and Craig Weston from Oval Owners.

Craig and Natalie Weston tell us about one of the biggest Ford clubs in the UK

-

When was the club first founded?

In January 2017 we decided to found a Ford club, with the aim to accept everyone and judge no-one. With massive help from Advan Jenkins, and our friends who had the same passion, Oval Owners was born; never in a million years did we expect it be as popular as it is today, though.

How many active members does the club currently have?

At the moment we currently have 13,500 Facebook members. We have some very committed members who will travel from Anglesey and Somerset just to attend our regular monthly meets in the Midlands. We also have 7350 Instagram followers.

Which models does the club cater for?

Our club prides its self on accepting any model of Ford; all budgets and all types are welcome from a £500 Puma through to a £50k Cosworth.

What does the club offer new members?

New members instantly become part of the Oval Owners family, and get a very warm welcome from our admin team and members. We are very lucky to have two amazing and supportive sponsors in Autobrite and Collins Performance; both of which offer exclusive discounts to our members. Also, Autobrite host our monthly meets, where members get the opportunity to buy products and win one of our ‘Car of the Month’ trophies.

Can you describe a typical club member?

Where do we start? With the club being so big we have a wide range of members; some who love restoring their classics, to seasoned Blue Oval veterans, through to first-time Ford owners. But the one thing in common is the love for the Ford brand.

What shows and events does the club usually attend?

As a club we try to attend a number of shows all over the country, typically these include

Pure Ford, Ford Fest, Classic Ford and Trax with our favourites being Ford Fair and RSOC National Day. We also do an annual charity event and a trip to the Nürburgring too.

What’s the best thing about being a member of the club?

Being a part of the family; we’ll go to car shows, go out for meals, and even go on the odd summer holiday as a group. But my personal opinion, I love how I know there’s always someone in the club willing to help.

Where do you see the club in five years?

Hopefully even stronger than we are already, by continuing doing what we all love.
