EXPLORER ST
Ford doesn’t import its USA Explorer into the UK (probably due to a bad experience in the 1990s), so there’s no hope of us receiving the Explorer ST. We’re missing out on a large SUV that can lurch from 0-to-60mph in 5.2 seconds and hit 143mph, thanks to its 400bhp/415lb.ft 3.0-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, backed by a tenspeed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. That won’t quite give a Range Rover SVR a run for its mega-money, but it would be fun to try in a massive Blue Oval. Alas, left-hand drive and 20mpg means we’re unlikely to get chance.
