MK4 FOCUS ST EDITION

The latest Edition from Ford is the ST Edition version of the Mk4 Focus ST. Like the Fiesta, it wears Ford’s signature and eye-catching Azura Blue and, as with the Mk3 RS Editions, it boasts a black roof, mirror caps and rear spoiler. The engine remains in the same spec as the regular ST, meaning 276bhp and 310lb.ft from the 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine plus the same 5.7-second 0-to-60mph time and 155mph top speed. But the extra £2000 over the regular ST’s starting price does add some very fancy Ford Performance two-way adjustable coilovers from KW (set at a 10mm lower ride height than the regular ST with scope for a further 20mm drop, and with 12 bump and 16 rebound settings – it even comes with its own technical document with various recommended settings for drivers to try out, including one optimised for the Nürburgring) as well as a unique set of flow-formed lightweight 19in alloys. Unlike the Fiesta Edition models, Ford hasn’t announced a production cap on the Focus ST Edition... Well, not yet anyway, but rumours and a few spy shots of a Mean Green ST with a heavily camouflaged front end could signal an imminent facelift for the Mk4 in 2022, so the ST Edition might well be a last hoorah before a restyled Focus hits the streets.
