LAIRD PERFORMANCE
£500
“To start with, we’d go for out LP1R kit – an SD V3 intake and Stage 1 Laird Performance map that gives up to 235bhp and 260lb.ft and totally changes the overall experience of the car. For £500 you’d also get a short-shifter. These mods will make the car feel a lot sportier to drive, with better induction noise, as well as a noticeable increase in power.”
£1500
“You’d be able to get the fully-fitted LP2R package within budget, including the SD V3 intake, Outlaw de-cat, Outlaw intercooler and our Laird Performance Stage 2 map. This maximises the output of the stock turbo and gives up to 245bhp. You would have some budget left, which we’d suggest investing in a short-shifter and a torque mount. You could also add a hot-side resonator delete for more turbo noise and freer-flowing boost pipework too.”
£5000
“For £5000 you can build a totally different animal. Our fully-fitted LP3R kit with Outlaw 5Triple1 hybrid turbo, SD large hot- and coldside boost pipes, Laird Performance ported manifold, SD V3 full intake, Outlaw 5triple1 intercooler, Outlaw turbo-back exhaust system, Turbosmart BOV and Turbosmart actuator, is all within budget and will give up to 345bhp. To support it, we’d suggest Eibach lowering springs, SD torque mount and short-shifter, upgraded J-hook discs and performance pads, with SD brake lines and Millers Racing fluid. By our calculations, that still leaves £38 to fill up the tank to go for a blast.”
