Dad in his sights

Junior Champion Mark Du Rose was elated with his National Championship but what he really likes is beating his dad, Adam.

Mark set up his weekend by shooting 87 on Saturday but said he felt it should have been more than 90. “It was pretty tricky with the wind on some of the targets but overall there wasn’t much that was affected by the wind; they were really suited to it and were really good,” he said. Sunday’s mission was simple. “The main goal was to go out and shoot 50 straight and hopefully beat Dad but that didn’t turn out; it went pretty good though, I shot two 23s,” he said.

“I could have easily had him, I just didn’t quite have the momentum to get there but definitely in the next 12 months I will start beating him every time. “At the moment he gets me every second shoot.” Mark said he now has the experience to shoot for more titles and expects to keep improving.
