ELEPHANTS IN COLOUR
Anantara Hotels & Resorts is ready to bring the world’s largest open-air art exhibition, Elephant Parade, to Bangkok. This family favourite has exhibited in cities all over the world, including London, Milan, Singapore and Hong Kong, and is now ready for its Thai debut.
Elephant Parade’s beginnings tell quite the story. When founder Marc Spits and his son Mike visited Friends of the Asian Elephant Hospital in Lampang, Thailand, they came across Mosha, an elephant that had lost a leg after stepping on a landmine as an infant. Each year, Mosha is fitted with a new leg, and at Elephant Parade in Bangkok, Mosha will make a special appearance with a Thai-themed prosthetic.
Alongside Mosha will be a herd of almost 100 elephant models, colourfully decorated and brightly handpainted by artists and stars such as Fast & Furious 7’ s Tony Jaa, The Hangover 2’ s Nirut Sirichanya and Miss Thailand World, Cindy Bishop. Expect lots of fun, as well as a bit of celeb- spotting! The exhibit will hit three key spots in Bangkok from 1 December 2015 to 29 January 2016. www.elephantparadebangkok.com
