Reading your excellent feature outlining every World Cup [FFT 288], I realised that all major teams have hosted it at least once – except the Netherlands. They have made three finals and produced some of the greatest players to grace the beautiful game, but they have never hosted a World Cup. You could put that down to their relative size – 16,040 square miles – though Qatar is 4,471 square miles. Surely the Dutch will get a chance soon? Victor Busschop
