The big talking point among the fans is how realistic our ambitions should be now that we’re back in League One. I won’t be happy unless the Dons go up and AFC go down...
The one change I’d make to the club would be to bring back the overseas pre-season tours. Budapest two years ago was a cracking trip!
The best Dons social media account is @Donsaction on Twitter. It’s run by a few teenage supporters, who are doing good things for fan involvement and helping us to have more of a say within the club.
Look out for Dylan Asonganyi [below]. This could be the year he makes his first-team mark after scoring loads of goals for the youth side.
The player I’d happily drive to another club is Ryan Harley. I’m not really sure why he’s still with us. He’s well past it now, and if he struggled in League Two then he definitely won’t be good enough for us in League One. Our most underrated player is Conor Mcgrandles [above], a workhorse who rarely puts a foot wrong.
The one recommendation for away fans is to get the train in and avoid getting lost among the roundabouts! The opposition player I secretly admire is Darren Potter, although it’s not much of a secret because he was outstanding during six years with the Dons. Tranmere have got themselves a wonderful player this summer. Save the date for AFC away on April 18 – with any luck, a win will promote us and relegate them.
The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is that he hasn’t won everyone over yet, despite the club bouncing straight back up to League One at the first time of asking. More positive football and a good crack at the division will soon put that right.
If he left, he should be replaced by Dean Lewington as player-manager, anyone? I can’t really see Tis leaving any time soon, though.
We’ll finish 10th. I’m hopeful we’ll give a play-off push a good go, but I wouldn’t complain about a top-10 finish in our first season back.
