Who was your childhood hero and did you ever meet them?

- What’s your finest moment as a player?

I used to love Billy Bremner. He was the heartbeat of that early- 70s Leeds team – a gritty, tough- tackling, natural leader. I finally met him in 1986 when the band I used to be in, The Housemarti­ns, took part in Tony Currie’s testimonia­l game at Bramall Lane. It was an honour to share a half- time fag with the great man.

Years ago, I somehow got roped into playing for the team against at Anfield. It was a blood- and- thunder TV soap derby, and let me tell you: I marked danger man Wicksy [ Nick Berry] out of the game.

Anthony Knockaert is an accomplish­ed breakdance­r. I was Djing at the players’ party, celebratin­g promotion in 2017, when he suddenly cleared the whole dancefloor doing his stuff.
