OLD FIRM UEFA FINALS
Celtic and Rangers both faced the heartbreak of losing UEFA Cup finals in the decade – but at least thousands of Glaswegians had smashing days out. In 2003, Celtic beat Liverpool to reach the final, but were then outdone by Jose Mourinho’s Porto. The Hoops had taken 80,000 fans to Seville in what was then the largest- ever travelling support for a game. However, Rangers trumped their enemies, with an estimated 200,000 fans going to Manchester in 2008 and causing chaos. The Gers lost 2- 0 to Zenit Saint Petersburg.
