STAM’S ‘ BUSY’ BOOK

It was fair to say that Jaap Stam’s autobiography ruffled feathers. His 2001 tell- all led to a premature exit from Old Trafford after he’d admitted that Alex Ferguson tapped him up, while a number of his team- mates met the crosshairs. The Nevilles were famously called “busy c*** s … the pair of them never stop whingeing.” But in a 2018 defence, Stam responded, “That doesn’t mean I didn’t like them – the comment was more in a joking way.”
