Newcastle were competing for the Premier League title in both 2001- 02 and 2002- 03 – how good was that team?

The team spirit was brilliant – we had a mix of older and younger players, and we all got on. We had a lot of respect for our elders and they respected the youngsters. If Alan Shearer was out injured, Bobby knew he had some players who could come in, take responsibility and fill the gap. People forget we were fighting for the title. I do regret that we didn’t have enough to win it, although I wouldn’t change anything – we had a good go.
