SILVA THE DIAMOND

One of the most hotly discussed topics between my friends is the issue of our all- time Premier League XIS. But do we objectively rate the players based on their abilities, or become clouded by nostalgia? I’d say 98% of people I speak to ( with no evidence for this statistic) pick Steven Gerrard and Patrick Vieira. My first choice, however, is always David Silva: 10 years with Man City, three titles, 300+ appearances and an orchestrator as his team rose. For me, it’s criminal that he’s rarely included in these debates. Or am I just being different for the sake of it?
