VIEW FROM THE STANDS
Last season was too difficult to talk about. MAKE ALL OF THE BAD MEMORIES STOP.
The big talking point among the
fans is whether Mikel Arteta is the right man to lead the revolution.
This season will be different to
last because Arsenal will spend money and are in the process of some drastic squad renovations. This will be the manager’s first full pre- season, he’ll have moved on the rebels and will have players who fit the system that he wants to play this term.
I’ve really missed shared misery. I can take a bad year, but there’s nothing better than being around 50,000 people feeling the same.
I won’t be happy unless Arsenal take a serious swing at the top four and move our football to the next level that Arteta promised. Our most underrated player is
Thomas Partey. He had a difficult start with injuries and took time to adapt, but he’ll blow up in 2021- 22. The one change I’d make would be landing on a singular vision for the future. We’re all over the place. Other clubs’ fans don’t know that we played Champions League group stage games at Wembley in the late ’ 90s to house more fans.
Our key player will be Bukayo Saka. He started to add more end product to his game at the back end of last season, and if he carries that through we’re in for a treat. The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is mixed. Some see the green shoots of an innovative young boss; others think we should sack him and hire a star ( ask Spurs how that went).
We’ll finish 4th.
