VIEW FROM THE STANDS

- SCOTT PATTERSON @ R_ o_ M

Last season was anticlimactic. We ended with a strong position in the league, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needed to win that Europa League final against Villarreal. The big talking point among the

fans is finally getting Jadon Sancho, after more than a year of trying to lure him from Dortmund.

This season will be different to

last because supporter pressure has seen the owners engage with our fans for the first time ever. I’m optimistically hoping this will bring about some real change.

I’ve really missed being in a crowd and celebrating goals like mad with a bunch of total strangers.

I won’t be happy unless we win a trophy. It’s now been four years since the last one.

Look out for Amad Diallo, who joined us from Atalanta in January. The 19- year- old winger should get much more playing time this term. The pantomime villain will be

Paul Pogba, if he decides not to sign a new contract.

The one change I’d make would be the Glazers taking fan ownership seriously. Joel has insisted the club want to show they can put things right… but will they?

Our key player will be Bruno Fernandes. Only one player in the Premier League set up more goals than him last season, and only two scored more. He’s absolutely vital. The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is divided. Solskjaer has brought about more positive changes than anyone since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, but he needs to stop falling short at the final hurdle. We’ll finish 3rd.
