VIEW FROM THE STANDS

- JON PUNT @ puntino

Last season was full of wonderful displays, but tinged with sadness that we couldn’t be there to see the team achieve our best points tally. The big talking point among the

fans is our sponsorship debacle. The club announced a partnership with online casino BK8, which was quickly cancelled after their highly sexualised marketing methods came to light. I’ve really missed all those weird and wonderful crowd noises I took for granted: the collective groan as an attack breaks down, the faux outrage at an agricultural tackle, that half- second of anticipatory silence before the ball hits the net.

I won’t be happy unless we make a better fist of things this time. With our self- sustainable model, progress can still be made – but it won’t be at the rapid pace some would like.

Look out for Adam Idah. Already making an impact for Ireland after a stop- start couple of campaigns. The pantomime villain will be

Emi Buendia. I mean, he’ll literally be playing as a Villan and his return to Carrow Road should be good fun.

The one change I’d make would be to implement rail seating as soon as possible.

Our key player will be Grant Hanley. Norwich’s defensive record improved notably last season, much of which was due to his influence. He will need to channel the same energy that saw him pocket Harry Kane at the Euros. The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is that he needs to stay here forever, but sadly for us, he’ll probably go on to work at the very highest level.

We’ll finish 15th.
