BOURNEMOUTH
Last season was disappointing because of the play- off semi- final defeat, but satisfactory too.
The big talking point among the fans is what style of football our new manager Scott Parker will play.
I’ve really missed the entire matchday experience, from leaving the house to having a meal, meeting friends... and the match!
I won’t be happy unless Parker gets us back to playing attractive, attacking football – wherever we finish in the league table. Our most underrated player is Junior Stanislas [ below], who’s been unlucky with injuries.
Look out for Sam Sherring, our 21- year- old centre- back who helped Torquay to the National League play- off final on loan last season. The player I’d happily drive to another club is nobody, though Arnaut Danjuma’s comments about ‘ outgrowing’ the Championship annoyed some fans. The admire opposition is Aaron player Ramsdale, I secretly who will play against us for Sheffield United.
The pantomime villain will be Jefferson Lerma, if he’s still here – a great player totally misunderstood by opposition fans ( and refs!). The one change I’d make would be to build the new training ground. Construction was paused last year. Save the date for Sheffield United at home, to let Ramsdale know how highly we rated him.
The ground I’m most looking forward to visiting is Craven Cottage, especially with Parker.
The best Bournemouth social media account is @ afcbpodcast ( but there are several good ones).
Other clubs’ fans don’t know that we’re not called ‘ Bournemouth FC’ – they’re a different club completely.
Our key player will be Lewis Cook or Ben Pearson. The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is that Scott Parker was a decent choice of manager. The consensus is that Jonathan Woodgate did OK during his short time in charge. I hope he gets another decent job.
We’ll finish 10th.
