Last season was a big transition – a total change of style and approach under Russell Martin, which gave us an up- and- down campaign. This season will be different because everyone has adapted to Martin’s style, which in theory should serve us better. I won’t be happy unless we sort out the defence, which was a horror show for much of last season. Our key player will be striker Michael Obafemi [ below]. He knows how to score goals, as 12 last season showed.

The opposition player who grinds my gears is Sam Clucas, who always turns into prime Lionel Messi when he faces his former club.

The thing my club really gets right is the South Wales derby! The players get what it means and they always turn up against Cardiff. Last season was the first time in 110 years of South Wales derbies that either team has done a league double over the other... and Swansea did it 3- 0 and 4- 0.

Fans that’s think not necessarily our owners a bad are quiet thing. – but The one change I’d make would be to introduce safe 22- year- standing. old centre- back Look out for Brandon Cooper. He’s been so unlucky and I’d love to see him break through this season. I’m least looking forward to playing

Stoke. It’s never fun playing Stoke. The pantomime villain will be Cardiff manager Steve Morison. The opposition player I’d love here is actually no longer playing at this level, thankfully. Morgan Gibbs- White was a cheat code for Sheffield United last year, but I can’t see him being in the Championship this time. The active player I’d love to have

back is Lukasz Fabianski… but that’s not exactly realistic.

The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is positive. We like what he is trying to do, even if his methods give us a bumpy ride. If he left, he should be replaced by

Angel Rangel, our club hero and currently managing Pontardawe Town’s under- 12s. He has all of the attributes to be a very good coach.

We’ll finish in the top 10, hopefully pushing for the top six.

FFT VERDICT 8TH

Last summer, Russ Martin had just six days to get his side accustomed to his methods before the opening weekend. With such an extreme, possession- heavy style, a complete pre- season boosts top- six hopes – and incoming MK Dons defender Harry Darling knows the drill well.
