Last season was a bit of a rollercoaster to say the least. Losing our manager on day one of the season, then a late automatic promotion push… before ultimately, play- off disappointment.
The big talking point is how we will spend the windfall of cash from selling Scott Twine and Harry Darling. Can we also successfully replace our starting loanees from last year? This season will be different because there’s some stability behind the scenes as we go into the season. While we anticipated losing a few key players, our recruitment team have shown time and again that nobody is irreplaceable. The opposition player I’d love here is
Cole Stockton, the kind of natural scorer Dons supporters have been craving for the past six months.
Our key player will be a fit Josh Mceachran [ below]. He moves the ball so freely and, week in, week out, shows us what a player he could have been if injuries hadn’t affected his career.
Our most underrated player is
Warren O’hora [ above]. He quietly goes about his job and comfortably puts in an 8/ 10 display every week without the same recognition as others. The thing my club really gets right is fan involvement. Supporter groups such as Dons Action played a huge part in increased home and away support last season. I’m least looking forward to playing
Sheffield Wednesday – we have a terrible record against them.
The opposition player who grinds my gears is Oxford’s Matty Taylor: the sort you’d love if he played for your team, but loathe if you support anyone else.
The active player I’d love to have
back is Chuks Aneke in his prime. He could run riot in a Liam Manning side.
The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is absolute love. Manning came in under difficult circumstances but rejuvenated the players and fanbase. His exciting, quick- passing style has made for some excellent breakaway and team goals. If he left, he should be replaced by
Michael Duff. I know he’s just joined Barnsley, but I’m a big fan. The pantomime villain will be Russell Martin, if we draw Swansea in a cup… We’ll finish 6th.

Write off MK Dons at your peril. Departures for Twine and Darling might hurt, but they do mean that esteemed sporting director Liam Sweeting and his recruitment team can reinvest a portion of the £ 5.5m received in fees. The results could prove ominous for the rest.
