Last season was a bit of a surprise – many supporters believed it would be a rebuild, but I predicted us to win the title in these pages, so there you go! The big talking point has been whether Jota and Cameron CarterVickers would sign permanently. It was a huge relief to get them tied down. This season will be different because we have a settled squad ahead of preseason and no European qualifiers – we’re back in the Champions League group stage after a four- season wait…
Our key player will be captain Callum Mcgregor [ above] – he’s an anchor in midfield and his influence runs right through the team.
I won’t be happy unless we retain the title, simple as that.
Our most underrated player is Greg Taylor [ below], who’s come on so well and is starting to prove himself a very capable player for club and country.
Fans think our ground is paradise. The atmosphere for big games is spoken
about around the world, and it’s on every fan’s bucket list to experience a European night at Celtic Park. The active player I’d love to have back is Virgil van Dijk – the best centre- half on the planet, trained and developed at Lennoxtown!
The thing my club really gets right is its social media output. It used to take a pounding but has developed hugely – the Alternative Goal Highlights are absolute quality. Fans think our owner is on a golf course somewhere, vaguely interested. I’m least looking forward to playing
Hearts – they always give us a good game and Robbie Neilson likes to moan about something we do.
The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is that he’s a god. Ange Postecoglou’s style of football is very easy on the eye, and he understands the ethos of Celtic.
The pantomime villain will be Alfredo Morelos – the guy has a short fuse and if things don’t go his way… well, stand back is my advice. The one change I’d make would be renaming our training facility after the late, great Tommy Burns – it would be a fitting tribute to a guy who developed such top talents. We’ll finish 1st. Again.

Ange, who? That’s the sort of talk Postecoglou walked into last year, before being tasked with rebuilding a squad and a club. Well, everyone knows who he is now. The likeable Aussie recruited well and created an attractive team who are a good bet to retain their league crown.
