Woven bags by george
Aside from that creepy kid in American Beauty, we’d hazard a guess that very few people are creatively inspired by a plastic bag floating on the breeze. Georgina Whigham of Canberra-based brand GEORGE is the exception that proves the rule. Her limited-edition loom-spun totes (made from cotton, linen and bamboo thread) mimic the handy characteristics of said airborne bag, only without all the eco-unfriendliness. Taking around eight hours each to construct and coming in at $290 a pop, these bags are made to be treasured. Head to instagram. com/george_label to see more, if you wish.
