things you should know about… dianas

-

They’re named after Princess Di. Caitlin Moloney: There was a framed picture of Princess Diana left over from a themed party in our living room, so we named ourselves after her. She represents a feminine ideal that is in reality more compromised, complex and dark, which makes sense in our music. They can finish each other’s sentences… kind of. Anetta Nevin: We share a special language – we can complete each other’s phrases with our instruments. Nathalie Pavlovic: Playing live together is the funnest thing in the world. We’ve been doing it for so long now, but it still feels special, and it’s a feeling that I don’t get from anywhere else. They love magic. CM: We love witches and witchy stories. It’s a romantic way to acknowledge the passage of time – everything is always changing and nothing is forever. NP: I’m more into the corny magic tricks. I love being entertained and I’m easily impressed. They find inspiration everywhere. AN: Lots of things inspire me, like the feeling of diving into a wave, velvet wildflowers, sunshine on a cold day. I’m inspired by musicians like ESG, Warpaint and PJ Harvey – all strong women doing cool things in their own way.
