FLAVOURED WATER

I’ve got to say, I never noticed the flavoured water craze back in its heyday, probably because my parents refused to buy fancy stuff like bottled H2O. I was forced to survive on unfluoridated Gold Coast water and oh, how my teeth suffer now. Anyway, this Pump ‘Lime Rush’ water doesn’t taste bad – at least not immediately. After a few seconds, it reminds me of the weak cordial they used to serve at school camps. There’s no oomph. No pow. No real kick. There is a sweetness, but it’s clearly artificial and rather strange. I feel like Pump is trying too hard to make water – perfectly fine in its tasteless, odourless form – taste better. Also, this flavour is vaguely reminiscent of disinfectant. This isn’t for me, but I bet it pairs well with butterfly hair clips and midriff tops.
