Morning or night? This morning I had nothing to do and was listening to talkback radio with my window open. It was raining and my old friend the magpie was chitchatting away. If every morning were like this, then I’d go with morning. Quiet or loud? Both in equal measure. I like my music loud. I like my brain to be quiet. Vinyl or digital? Vinyl. It is such a precious thing to have and hold and treasure and examine and see spinning around and around. Horror or comedy? Comedy. The door to imagination in the back of my head doesn’t need any horrific ideas. Having said that, The Shining might be one of my favourite films ever… so who knows. Playing or listening? Listening, because if I picked playing then I’d only be able to listen to myself and who wants that? Tea or coffee? Coffee. I have maybe three or four a day. No milk, thank you. Summer or winter? One thousand times summer. Sun, sea, balmy nights, getting tired from swimming, a ham roll and a cordial… Nothing can really compete with that. Sweet or savoury? Not sure I can pick between them. I love cooking but can’t really do sweets because you have to follow the recipe too closely. I like to just get the idea of something and cook in my own way. Planned or spontaneous? These days I am trying to be as spontaneous as I can, so let’s go with that. City or country? I think it depends on which city or country I am in, no? Let’s assume that we’re talking about my home in Victoria. In which case: country.
