Understanding island’s value
Masquerade gala for rehab
AS FRASER Island (K’gari) celebrates 26 years of World Heritage status, a symposium will be held to share knowledge and enhance understanding of its unique universal values.
Presented by USC at its Fraser Coast campus on June 7 and 8, the K’gari-Fraser Island Symposium will bring together researchers, traditional owners, UNESCO committee representatives and other organisations connected with the Island.
Registration is essential. For more information visit usc.edu.au/kgari-frasersymposium. BAYSIDE Transformations, the local rehabilitation centre saving lives, is holding its annual gala in a few weeks.

Guests will enjoy a threecourse meal and charity auction of items valued at more than $20,000 followed by entertainment by band Forbidden Road. There will be prizes for the best dressed guests. Tickets are $110 per person or $1000 for a table of 10. Phone Lisa on 0422 282 297.
