WIN, 7.30pm

Following the inner-workings of the West Midlands Ambulance Service, it’s a lesson in the strength and tenacity of its paramedics and staff. We barrel into a busy Friday evening: only one hour into the night shift, the crew are already on the scene of their third cardiac arrest and fourth stabbing victim. Interestingly, it’s not these gory situations that take up most of the paramedics’ time, but the plight of a family who can’t convince their alcoholic relative to get medical help. In emotional scenes, empathetic paramedic Maya (pictured) spends hours with the family.
