M’BORO TOWN HALL CEL­E­BRATES 110 YEARS

Join in on the City Hall fes­tiv­i­ties this week­end

JOIN us this week­end as the re­gion cel­e­brates 110 years of Mary­bor­ough’s cen­tre­piece – the City Hall.

Be­hind her grand col­umns, the Mary­bor­ough City Hall stores thou­sands of sto­ries which span gen­er­a­tions.

As part of the cel­e­bra­tions you will be able to hear those sto­ries – told by the peo­ple who know them best, the res­i­dents of Mary­bor­ough as they share the me­mories that this build­ing holds for them.

The spe­cial dis­play fea­tur­ing sto­ries from res­i­dents, pho­to­graphs and arte­facts will be in­stalled in the au­di­to­rium en­trance.

You can also share your per­sonal me­mories of City Hall (or Mary­bor­ough) by fol­low­ing @FraserCoastRC and us­ing the hash tag# My Mary bor­ough Story on Ins tagram and Twit­ter.

To mark the oc­ca­sion, walk­ing tour guides will con­duct free guided tours of the City Hall on:

● Satur­day, 16 June: 10am, 11am, 2pm and 5.30pm

● Sun­day, 17 June: 10am and 11am.

Meet un­der the grand col­umns at the front of the build­ing.

BACK IN TIME: March for Free­dom Novem­ber 2, 1918. Mayor and lady mem­bers of Im­pe­rial Ser­vice Club and Al­der­men in front of the Town Hall.
