Fraser Coast Careers in disability showcase

Fraser Coast Chronicle - - OPINION -

LATE last month more than 100 community members attended the Fraser Coast Careers in Disability Showcase to learn more about a future career supporting people with disability.

While some wanted to learn about the types of roles and training available, others were committed to taking a more definite step into a new career.

Within two-and-a-half hours, seven employers conducted approximately 200 speed interviews with local job seekers.

The night has already led to offers of employment, identification of hosts for placements and enrolments in courses for further skilling.

The evening’s success could not have been achieved without the local WorkAbility Qld Working Group members, the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre, Southern Cross Austereo and the support of the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

WorkAbility Qld would like to thank these people and our regions employers, organisations and job seekers, for making the night such a successful and positive step forward for the future workforce.
