Wide Bay tourism numbers continuing to boom in 2018

Fraser Coast Chronicle - - GOOD MORNING FRASER COAST -

WIDE Bay MP Llew O’Brien has welcomed strong domestic and international traveller numbers for the region, saying it has provided a significant boost to the local economy.

The Tourism Research Australia results revealed the Fraser Coast has continued to be a major tourist hotspot for domestic travellers with a 24 per cent increase on last year’s numbers.

The results also show a record 8.4 million international tourists visited Australia over the last year, injecting about $43.2 million into the local economy.

“These visitor numbers are a testament to our local tourism operators and show that Wide Bay has something truly special to offer for domestic and international visitors,” Mr O’Brien said.
