It was reported to police that about 3.30pm the driver of a white Ford Falcon sedan waved an item that appeared to be a firearm as he passed a motorcyclist on Winterfold Road. On Tuesday last week, a man attended Fremantle police station advising he wished to speak to Fremantle Detectives about a recent incident. A 22-year-old man from Coolbellup has been charged with being armed or pretending to be armed in a way that may cause fear. The man is due to appear at Fremantle Magistrates Court. TRAFFIC Enforcement Group officers are investigating a serious crash in Hammond Park on Monday, July 30, which left a man with serious injuries. About 8.15pm, a 39-year-old man was driving an orangeand-black 2016 model Honda motorcycle south along the Kwinana Freeway. About 2km south of Russell Road, the motorcycle left the road and struck the wire barrier. The male rider from Wellard received serious leg injuries and was conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital. Anyone who saw the crash or the Honda motorcycle prior to the crash is urged to call Crime Stoppers. FREMANTLE police said there had been an increase in reported thefts from cars in the suburb and adjacent White Gum Valley last week. Senior Sergeant Brad Warburton said there were at least 12. Several of the cars were unlocked, while others had windows smashed to get small items including sunglasses and coins. Sgt Warburton said combating the thefts would be part of Operation Sirius, which tackles stealing.
