Kick off for good cause

THE Stephen Michael Foun­da­tion will of­fi­cially launch at a gala din­ner on Novem­ber 10.

Stephen Michael Foun­da­tion chief ex­ec­u­tive Tom Bot­trell said de­spite the Foun­da­tion hav­ing al­ready op­er­ated for 18 months, they wanted to be in a po­si­tion to tell the suc­cess­ful sto­ries of the early stages.

“The Stephen Michael Foun­da­tion man­ages and fa­cil­i­tates per­sonal de­vel­op­ment pro­grams, us­ing sport as the ve­hi­cle to en­gage the youth and young adults,” he said.

“The SM Foun­da­tion sup­ports young peo­ple re­gard­less of cul­tural back­ground, gen­der or so­cial cir­cum­stances.”

Mr Bot­trell said any­one who was pas­sion­ate about sup­port­ing com­mu­nity de­vel­op­ment and youth be­hav­iour could at­tend. “Stephen Michael is the great­est player to have played for South Fre­man­tle Foot­ball Club and per­haps one of the great­est to have played in WA,” he said.

“The fact that he is ac­tu­ally one of the great­est peo­ple you are likely to meet, we be­lieve, makes this night a unique op­por­tu­nity to sup­port a fan­tas­tic cause and to meet a legend of WA sport.”
