Did you mostly stick to using the same synths for the whole album?

Merijn: “I think after eight months of real tunnel vision using the same gear to make this album, suddenly we realised, ‘Why do we always stare at these same synths?’. At that point we decided we liked what we had and were really enjoying it, but needed to find a way of creating other textures. The answer for us was to get back in the box and use quite cheap-feeling sounds to try to make melodies. It didn’t always work out but it opened up a new path.”
